FAQ: How to Navigate Your Group on MPCN

Tap the title above or the red link "read more..." below to add a comment or ask a question.

Welcome to the MPCN Community! I've written this overview to help you quickly navigate to your group(s) and find the most recent discussions, or explore the discussion categories in the groups that interest you most at this stage of your Poolee, Recruit, Candidate, or Marine's career in the Corps. The first thing you'll need to do is join a group. Click on "Groups" in the main navigation to find the group that's right for you and your loved one's stage in the Marine Corps.

FINDING YOUR GROUP(S):
The main navigation of the website, MPCN: ConnectAndShare.com, is at the top, under our blue MPCN banner, between the two red lines. In that main navigation, mouse over "Groups" then tap or click "My Groups." When that page opens, tap on the icon for the group(s) in which you belong.

GROUP NAVIGATION:
Once inside the group, you'll see another row of navigation under the group banner and name. It's a row of grey-colored topics. This is the Group navigation. When you mouse over or tap the grey-colored text, it turns into red links with an underscore. Topics include: [Home]  [Welcome]  [Daily Posts]  [Members], etc.

CHOOSE A TOPIC:
Click on one of the topics in that row; I prefer the "Daily Posts" option to view all the conversations. "Home" also includes the most recent discussions. "Welcome" is some basic information about the group, our 10 Guidelines, and your volunteer team.

CATEGORIES OF DISCUSSIONS:
After choosing "Daily Posts," you'll see all the most recent discussions for this group, along with another row of categories that appear as red links. If you prefer a specific category of discussions and articles, you can then click on a discussion category in the second row of red links. If you're using a cell phone, instead of red links, it's a drop-down menu that starts with "All Articles."

  • Hello,

    I am in the OCS/TBS & Officers group but I think I should be in the WAB After Boot Camp group.

    My son just started school early October at Ft. Leonard Wood and graduates early Feb and then will be assigned his PDS.

    When I go to the WAB After Bood Camp group, it does not have/show a 'join' link.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Diana

      Hey Diana Lando Welcome! I've removed you from OCS and added you to MOS and MoMs. You're also in MPG. If you go to the main navigation, mouse over "Groups" then go to "My Groups" you'll see links to all of those groups now. Hope that helps! If not, feel free to ask more questions. I'm going to tag Stacie Lynne because I'll be out of pocket a few days.
